The Gov’t Shutdown

I don’t really care about it.

I have a suggestion, the Senate should make popcorn, drink whiskey and watch Mr. Smith Goes to Washington instead. Then the Republicans should vote no on the budget proposal. Problem solved. Next bill! TECHNICALLY, the senate doesn’t have a moral obligation to ‘fund the federal government’. And it’s not like it ACTUALLY shutdown. It’s still operational from the shadows. And the military is wide awake! So, it’ll be okay. If I were a senator I’d carry my ‘fuckit!’ stamp. And any bill I didn’t like, I wouldn’t bother signing it. I’d stamp it out and slosh whiskey over it but I’m not a senator and I don’t quiet understand their strange customs. Do they actually use quills or nod in agreement? I’m not really sure.

BUT it wasn’t THAT long ago Republicans were filibustering gov’t funding. So, it makes sense some republicans have the integrity to say we like the rules just fine.

Of course, I don’t think a filibuster should endure if the elected servants aren’t prepared to camp out and sleep on the job. And the democrats don’t seem up to it. They’d probably lose in a battle of endurance. So, what I’m saying is….why are they getting paid to not be in session while they ‘filibuster’? It’s not a real filibuster unless it’s like a game of capture the floor and hold the ground. But maybe I’m just an old fashioned classical liberal conservative. I’m actually saddened to hear that the filibuster isn’t this law of the jungle battle for votes while slamming coffee.
