I theorize a reciprocity between The East and The West with respect to how each becomes a litmus for the other in terms of justifying their own respective barbarism. The larger result is best described less in terms of a cold-war, and more in terms of mutually compounding fascism.
Understanding this is the key to understanding realpolitik in the 21st century.
